The Olds Municipal Library is a new expanded facility that facilitates the view to the surrounding open space on the site allowing for natural light to infiltrate the library interior. The interior is inviting and comfortable while offering a diverse collection of spaces, allowing readers to curl up with a good book in a cozy chair or to study at large tables with internet access. The open and flexible interior space is intended to adapt to the evolving needs of this growing community. Beyond revitalization of the library spaces, the facility incorporates sustainable principles wherever possible, including energy efficient lighting and sensors, an abundance of natural daylight, recyclable materials and low maintenance landscaping. |
